Stumbling through week four

Or would it be Tumbling? *shrug*

Last Friday was a big deadline day for me at work, thus I was super focused on those two deliverables and ended up burnt at the end of almost each day last week, but especially that Friday. And thus my reading suffered. Then on Monday at 3 pm our professor emailed to say that she put a week 5 reading into the week 4 folder on the class website. And here’s the correct reading.

So yeah, that was me you heard swearing up a storm.

I got into such a rhythm and pattern of just opening the folder and hitting print AND the fact that the readings are from the same person, I didn’t bother to double check that the titles matched. Thus, I should had picked up on this mistake way earlier. The sucky part? Because the correct reading dealt with Freud and Marx, she came to class tonight prepared for me to share my thoughts. Because the reading came in so late, I only skimmed. The good part? Only one out of my seven classmates caught that error. So yeah, we’re all in the same rhythm.

My rhythm wasn’t just off, it was really broken.

Tonight I went to class without one text book and without my notebook. When I realized that, I was thinking, “Really?!”

Next week will be tough as I’m missing class to attend the final installment of a leadership program. I’ll still do all my reading and write up my journal, but will miss the great discussions we have in class. I learn so much more in class than reading on my own. I don’t think e-learning would be for me. I need people!
